Political Poetry: “We Will Win” by Gary R. Hess

Democrats: Where Progressives Don't Matter

WE WILL WIN
by Gary R. Hess

Corruption surrounds us
like vile liquid
in sewage.
We continue our days
without recognizing
the evergrowing disruption
of our democracy.
Capitalism can only
do so much.
Can only go so far.
We must follow through.
We can’t trust the rich
to spend their millions on us.

We can’t trust new jobs to be created
through trust. Through promises.
As MSM ignores the follies
of DNC, we sit by
and wait as voters are suppressed
and rules are changed
to meet their needs.
The DNC is private.
They make the rules.
A private organization
that receives public funding
but doesn’t follow public want.
Is this our party?
Is this our future?
Our fight?
We can’t let go
and if we can’t win
we will win.
We must win.
Grassroots are more powerful
and better organized
than ever before.
If the DNC won’t change
on our terms today,
we will overtake it tomorrow.
As the youth grow
and the youth votes
while MSM erodes
we win.
New party or no.
Progressives will win.
