Christmas Imagined by Gary R. Hess – A Holiday Poem

CHRISTMAS IMAGINED
by Gary R. Hess

Grasses frosted,
branches iced,
with snowflakes flowing down.

Children singing,
music playing,
with toys along the ground.

Blinking lights,
white and clear,
with tassels scattered ’round.

Angel topped evergreen,
tall as thee need be,
oh what worth
is this to see
and be with you
this Christmas Eve.

This poem was written to signify what I truly want for Christmas. It’s difficult, however, in a different country. There’s not even snow! But what can a guy do except imagine what it would be like–what it was before. Nevertheless, time has passed and now we must look to the future for what we hope will come again.

This poem is to show hope, splendor, and even amiss in our imagination.
