“Thanksgiving Trifecta” by Gary R. Hess – A Holiday Poem

Turkey for ThanksgivingTHANKSGIVING TRIFECTA
by Gary R. Hess

Stuffing, turkey, and dinner rolls:
the glorious Thanksgiving trifecta,
bring happiness and fulfillment
into our mouths unto our souls.

These foods are but a metaphor
for all we have thankful:
our homes, our friends, our labors…
(and those which gave us favors)

And with this Thanksgiving
we must give thanks
for all those who had made us great
and helped us in our fate.

So those of us
who have these three,
have much more than can ever be
a truly happy family.

Thanksgiving is my favorite American holiday. Coming together as a family, talking about all the great things you are proud of or lucky to have, eating delicious food, and who can’t forget the beginning of Christmas season. This day is truly glorious.

I wrote this poem is celebration of this great day and everything it stands for. I hope you enjoy it!
