Christmas Poetry: “Santa” by Gary R. Hess – From ‘X-Mas in Shorts’

by Gary R. Hess

His swollen face
was littered with cotton-like
hairs as fine as as thin as sand.
His eyes were round and
big like apples

but as blue as Summer’s noon sky.
His thin-wired eyes were
rested upon his nose
like a grandfather reading the news.
His ears were tucked snuggly
under his rose-colored cap
and lined with white fleece;
not unlike his beard.
